I thought it had a good flow, with a strong view of Frey's internal dialogue and how he experiences the pain in his life. In all honesty, it was an intriguing book. It catalogues his experience in a rehab center and his journey in getting clean. This book is Frey's experience as a recovering addict, first and foremost. ![]() First, though, lets look at the book itself. It's ruthlessly "honest," but also up for a massive amount of debate as to whether or not it should truly be considered a memoir. ![]() This is Frey's acclaimed account of his six weeks in rehab. There he was told he could either stop using or die before he reached age 24. An alcoholic for ten years and a crack addict for three, he checked into a treatment facility shortly after landing. He had no idea where the plane was headed nor any recollection of the past two weeks. ![]() At the age of 23, James Frey woke up on a plane to find his front teeth knocked out and his nose broken. ![]()
